Update the Kraya Extension

If you see the banner "New version available. Update the extension to continue." at the top of WhatsApp Web, your Kraya Extension is behind the latest release and automations may pause until you update. The steps below get you back on the latest version in under a minute.

Fastest path — use Chrome's Update button

This updates the extension in place without removing it.

1. In Chrome, click the three-dot menu in the top-right and choose Extensions → Manage extensions.
2. Toggle Developer mode ON in the top-right of the extensions page.
3. Click the Update button that appears along the top toolbar.
4. Go back to your web.whatsapp.com tab and refresh the page.
5. The banner disappears once the version numbers match.

If the banner still shows after refresh, move on to the full reinstall below.

Full reinstall (when the update button doesn't work)

Use this when Chrome's Update button doesn't bump the version, or when the banner reappears after a refresh.

1. Remove the Kraya Extension

1. Click the puzzle-piece Extensions icon in the top-right of Chrome.
2. Find Kraya Extension and click Remove.
3. Click Remove again to confirm.

2. Install the latest version

You have two options:

From the Chrome Web Store

• Open the Kraya Extension listing.
• Click Add to Chrome and confirm.

From the Kraya Dashboard

• Sign in to your Kraya Dashboard.
• Click Get Extension at the top of the page.
• If Chrome says the extension is already installed, remove it first (step above) and try again.

3. Reload WhatsApp Web

1. Open web.whatsapp.com.
2. Refresh the tab.
3. The Kraya overlay opens automatically and the update banner is gone.

You are now running the latest version.

Verify the update worked

The banner compares the latest version the Kraya servers know about against the current version your browser has installed. Once both match, the banner disappears on its own — you do not need to click anything to dismiss it. If it persists after a refresh, the new version didn't install cleanly; repeat the full reinstall path above.

If it still isn't working

• Make sure you are using Google Chrome on a desktop computer. The Kraya Extension does not run on the WhatsApp Desktop app, on mobile, or in non-Chrome browsers.
• Check for chat-loading problems unrelated to the version: see Chats not loading for a clean reinstall that also wipes the WhatsApp Web site data.
• If automations are still paused after the update, the issue is likely elsewhere — the banner only gates the version mismatch. See AI not replying, 2 Sessions Detected, and Account Mismatch.
• Contact your Kraya POC with a screenshot of the banner and the version number visible on Chrome's Manage extensions page.
