Why Kraya pauses automations outside your configured Business Hours, and how to change them.
In Kraya, your Business Hours decide when your WhatsApp automations are allowed to run. If your actual usage time and your saved Business Hours do not match, some pending messages in a running sequence may not be sent even if you open WhatsApp later.
What does "Business Hours Mismatch" mean?
Let's say you have set your Business Hours in Kraya as 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM (IST). Within this time window, if:
- Your WhatsApp Web is open
- You are logged in on the same browser
- The Kraya extension is active
Then Kraya can send and manage your automations smoothly.
However, if you later open WhatsApp outside your saved Business Hours (for example, at 9:00 PM) and you expect pending sequence messages (started in the morning) to go out, Kraya will not send those messages because it strictly follows the Business Hours you have defined.
In short: The automation you started in the morning will pause once your Business Hours end, and will only resume when the next active Business Hours window starts.
Common scenario example
- Business Hours set as 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
- At 11:00 AM, you assign a sequence to a lead. Some messages go out immediately.
- There are a few pending messages scheduled to go later in the day.
- At 5:00 PM, your Business Hours end. You close your system.
- At 9:00 PM, you open WhatsApp Web again with the Kraya extension on.
Even though WhatsApp is now open at 9:00 PM, the pending messages from that sequence will not be sent because 9:00 PM is outside the Business Hours (10:00 AM – 5:00 PM). That's when you may see the banner indicating a Business Hours mismatch.
How to fix this: Update your Business Hours
If you want Kraya to continue sending automations during your actual working time, you just need to update your Business Hours from the Global Settings.
Step-by-step
- Open the Kraya Dashboard.
- On the top bar, click on Global Settings.
- Scroll down the page until you find the Business Hours section.
- Adjust your start and end time according to when you actually want your automations to run. (For example, change from 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM to 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM if you want messages to go till late evening.)
✅ Once you update and save your Business Hours, Kraya will resume sending eligible automation messages during the new time window, as long as WhatsApp Web is open and the extension is active.

1. Will my existing automations resume after I change Business Hours?
Yes. As long as the sequence is still active and within its logic/validity, Kraya will continue sending the pending steps when your updated Business Hours are active and WhatsApp Web is open with the extension running.
2. What if I intentionally want to stop messages after a certain time?
Then your current setup is correct. Simply keep your Business Hours limited (for example, 10:00 AM – 5:00 PM), and Kraya will not send any automation messages outside that window.
3. Do I need to change Business Hours every day?
No. Once you set your preferred Business Hours, they remain the same until you manually change them again.
