2 Sessions Detected Banner
Why Kraya shows this banner when multiple WhatsApp Web sessions are active, and how to choose the primary.
This banner appears when the Kraya extension on WhatsApp Web is logged in on more than one device or browser profile. Automations run only on the primary device to prevent duplicate sending.
1) Understanding the Scenario
WhatsApp Business allows up to four active web logins at a time. Let's take a simple example to understand how this works:
Imagine there are four users – User 1, User 2, User 3, and User 4.
- All four have access to the same WhatsApp Business number using Kraya Extension.
- Whichever user logs in first (say, User 1) automatically becomes the Primary session.
- The remaining users (User 2, 3, 4) become Secondary sessions.
Only the Primary user's session runs automations. Others can still use the extension, but they won't trigger automated actions.
2) How to Fix or Change the Primary User
If you want to assign a different team member as the Primary, follow these steps carefully:
- Ask all other users to temporarily close their WhatsApp Web tabs or log out from the Kraya extension.
- Ensure only the person who needs to become Primary keeps their WhatsApp Web session active and connected.
- Once this person is confirmed as Primary, the rest of the team can reopen their WhatsApp Web tabs or log in again to the Kraya extension.
By following this order — Primary first, others later — you'll ensure the correct device becomes the Primary session.
3) Why This Matters
- Automations, sequences, and broadcasts only run from the Primary device.
- Secondary devices are for viewing and manual work only.
- Automations cannot run on multiple devices simultaneously to prevent any duplicate sends or sync issues across devices.
4) Best Practice for Teams
- Coordinate with your team to decide which system stays logged in as Primary during work hours.
- After making updates on one device, others should refresh to see the latest lead changes.
- Avoid editing the same lead on multiple devices simultaneously to prevent sync conflicts.
5) When the Banner Appears or Disappears
Here's how the banner visibility logic works:
- For the Primary device: The banner will not appear on the extension. The Primary device simply runs automations and does not need a reminder.
- For Secondary devices: The banner will appear on their user interface inside the Kraya extension. It acts only as an informational notice — not an error.
The user cannot manually remove this banner. It disappears automatically once only the Primary session remains active.
There's no issue if the banner stays visible on a Secondary device; it just indicates that you are a connected user while automations continue through the Primary device.
Automation always runs through the Primary device, while Secondary users can continue to use their interface normally.
