Check Lead Source

Find where each lead came from in your Kraya CRM.

Many users ask: "Where can I see the source of my leads in Kraya CRM?" Here is a simple step-by-step guide that shows exactly where to look and how it works.

Step 1: Open the CRM Section

On the left sidebar of your dashboard, click on CRM.

This will open your main CRM view with all your stages and leads.

Main CRM screen with stages like New Lead, Qualified, In Conversation, Good Lead, etc.

Step 2: Choose the Stage You Want to Check

At the top of the CRM, you'll see your pipeline stages, for example: New Lead, Qualified, In Conversation, Good Lead, Lead Won, No Response or any custom stages you've created.

Click on the stage where the lead is stored. For example, click New Lead to see all new leads.

The table below will update and show all leads under that stage.

Step 3: Understand the Lead Row Layout

Each row in the table represents one lead. You will see columns like:

  • Personal Details
  • Additional Info
  • Notes
  • Auto Follow-Up Sequence
  • Call Tracker (and others, depending on your setup)

Tip: The lead source is shown inside the Personal Details section of that lead.

Step 4: Where Exactly Can I See the Lead Source?

Inside the Personal Details area of a lead, you'll see the information stacked in this order:

  • Lead name (for example: Deepak Chawla)
  • Email ID (if available)
  • Phone number
  • Lead Source – shown just below the phone number (for example: Google Sheet, CRM, etc.)

The text directly under the phone number clearly shows from where this lead came into Kraya CRM. That is your Lead Source.

Step 5: Open WhatsApp Chat from the Same Place (Optional)

Next to the phone number in the Personal Details section, you'll also see a small WhatsApp icon.

Click on the WhatsApp icon to directly open the WhatsApp chat for that particular lead.

This is useful when you want to quickly message the lead after checking their source.

Note: The lead source is set when the lead is created (for example, via Google Sheet, API, website form, or manual add). You can use it to understand which channel is bringing you leads, but you typically don't need to edit it manually.

Quick Recap

  • Go to CRM from the left sidebar.
  • Select the stage where your lead is stored (New Lead, Qualified, etc.).
  • Look at the Personal Details column for that lead.
  • Check the line below the phone number – that's your Lead Source.
  • Use the WhatsApp icon beside the phone number to chat with the lead instantly.

That's it! This is all you need to know to quickly check the lead source for any contact inside Kraya CRM.

FAQs

Q1: Can I manually change the lead source? No, the lead source is automatically assigned based on how the lead entered your CRM (Google Sheet, API, WhatsApp, Website Form, Manual Add). It cannot be edited manually.

Q2: Why is my lead source showing as "CRM"? This means the lead was added using the Add New Lead button inside your CRM or created automatically when someone messaged your WhatsApp for the first time.

Q3: Can I filter leads by source? Yes, you can use the CRM search bar or advanced filters to filter leads by source such as Google Sheet, API, or Website.

Q4: Where does the source come from when leads come via WhatsApp? If someone messages you directly on WhatsApp (API or Non-API), the source will automatically show as WhatsApp API (when using API) and Extension in case using non-API.

Q5: How can I directly open the WhatsApp chat of a lead?

To open a lead's WhatsApp chat instantly, follow these steps:

  1. Go to the left sidebar and click on CRM.
  2. Select the stage where your lead is located (for example, New Lead or Qualified).
  3. In the table, look for the lead whose chat you want to open.
  4. Inside the Personal Details column, find the phone number of the lead.
  5. Right next to the phone number, you will see a small WhatsApp icon.
  6. Click that icon — this will directly open the WhatsApp chat of that specific lead in your extension.

This is the quickest way to start a conversation with the lead without manually searching for their number.
